Or was it some conspiracy a la the Arab thing, trying to discredit him? Although there's this -> www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/2001_07xx_rea.htm

Forum Posts: 328 Comments: 0 Reviews: 0 | I think it was taken out of context Anakin and things were insinuated (that Keanu supposedly said) and twisted into something totally different. He did comment on an incident that he saw outside a bar-with a girlfriend and boyfriend that escalated in to some hitting. I think he said that the boyfriend hit the girlfriend, but she was doing something too. Man, I wish I could remember the exact thing he said. Of course all the papers thought it meant Keanu was advocating hitting women.

Forum Posts: 125 Comments: 2 Reviews: 0 | I'm not sure what to think and believe here really, but I do think it's within the realm of possibility for Keanu to have said this. He did say something about the filming of the scene where his character hits Cate's character that was pretty out there too. Apparantly he was give advice to "just hit her in the fucking womb". Not his words, but he repeated them in an interview. I do hope though that his words were taken out of context.

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | OF COURSE it's another case of quotes taken out of the context... ...gotta love the media. honestly. some of the quotes are here, in the context they were uttered in the first place : http://www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/2000_0831_qui.htm http://www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/2003_05xx_acc.htm http://www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/2006_04xx_kea.htm http://www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/2001_07xx_kea.htm there could be more such mentions in 2001 but I'm too lazy to search for them now wait, found another one ! http://www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/2001_04xx_wer.htm editor's note : that " some ladies don't mind it" does open a can of worms... 'cause there's truth to it... but ... eh, nevermind. PS edit : Ani, I really love that search function. really. really

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | now, I am a feminist myself , but this kind of agressive feminism upsets me just as much as male chauvinism. and there's a huge difference between gang rape and 'playing it rough'. there are battles to be fought indeed, but this is not one of them. besides, they 'forgot' to read the 'some' in 'some ladies don't actually mind' ... or should I be a b***h and ask whether the truth hurts ? now how's that for awful to say ? |
