I think it will not. Isn't that what this wiki page says?

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | lindawn - probably not. But check if your DVD player is region-free or has a region setting (it probably has). The link supplied by ARYA is very useful.
I have a region-free DVD player which so far plays discs with code 2 and 1 without any problems. Will have to see about 3, though. Theoretically, it should be able to play it. Guess I'll find out, eventually :)

Forum Posts: 2836 Comments: 74 Reviews: 11 | OK, I viewed it in Thai. Loved it. The only time I really wanted to know what was said was when he made that dark haired girl cry. I hope the dvd is crisper than this pirate download. There is a lot of Keanu wonderfulness in this movie. TWO full minutes of closeup cupcake eating, and then the squirrel vid, and singing in the car, and again with bacon and eggs eating like in HC. He is very thin. Too thin. But freaking hot as hades. It's briefs not boxers in this one. Sex workers often have a hard life. Not a surprise. This is truly THE edgiest movie Keanu has made to date. Can't wait to see it with his voice although Thai is an adorable language.

Forum Posts: 2836 Comments: 74 Reviews: 11 | @LucaM, I'm a little concerned about what you might think of as depraved if you thought there was no depravity in this flick. You must be an interesting woman. I am thrilled with the huge array of smoking hot stills from cupcake eating to bathroom blowjobs. I need gifs!

Story of O. Bataille's Story of the Eye. Bruckner's Bitter Moon. Anne Rice's Exit to Eden - although that's a fun reading, sort of. Almost as bad as internet porn. Houellebecq's The Elementary Particles and Platform, although those are both depraved and sad; more sad than depraved... Everyone and their pets' recent fascination with everything S&M. A slippery slope that is... next to all that, Gen.Um shows just common facts of life - and it's a pathetic, sad life. personal opinion/s, as always.

Forum Posts: 2836 Comments: 74 Reviews: 11 | You have delved into the dark side haven't you luca? I knew I was not hardcore when I viewed Ma Mere iirc is Bataille. And I read The Elementary Particles for reasons, you know. In light of those stories Generation Um is a more sad than depraved period of time. In overall filmography Reeves is nearly a saint isn't he? And a wonderful role model for young people, if he likes it or not.

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | I just read a lot. But don't always practice what I read ;)
nearly a saint? dunno about that... but it surely would be hard to compete with Fassbender...

Forum Posts: 2836 Comments: 74 Reviews: 11 | Who's competing? Ya mean about him being in Shame and showing off that anaconda? And who is more saintly than Reeves. Are you ready to name names? :)

My apologies Luca! lol I know some Italian guys with that name so I just assumed... sorry :) I still feel like My Own Private Idaho is the edgiest thing he's made. I (unfortunately) know a lot of people who are still squicked out by some of the imagery and acts presented in it. Keanu naked with 2 other dudes, and also running around in a dog collar and cuffs is still pretty risque for a lot of people (since we're on the subject of S&M and bondage ;) To this day I think there are very few hetero actors who would do that...There was a lot of risk for him there. But Gen. Um is definitely along those same lines of dark lives lived on the fringes of society... GOD I cannot wait to actually hear the dialogue in this film!

Forum Posts: 2836 Comments: 74 Reviews: 11 | He says "Do you know all their names". That's what makes her cry.

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | softie - no worries :) I know it's a common Italian male name, hence the confusion :)
I tend to view MOPI more like a play-within-a-film, or like a metaphor. Those 'artsy' stills make me think of Fellini's 8 1/2 rather than anything else. But Gen.Um is just so gdamned realistic and gritty and sad...
