Jack Reacher
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0790724/

Since I quite pessimistic on getting any chance to watch Keanu's next project on television, John Rain, I am happy to see some of its nuances were presented by Jack Reacher's world. It was also a book adaptation by the way the world of an ex-army, with a nomad's live, with no luggage beside an ATM debit card, a tooth brush, and a pair of clothes. I think, the main difference between Jack and John is that while the former works for his own causes, the latter works for money.

"Things We Lost in The Fire" Starring Halle Berry, Benecio Del Toro, and David Duchovny (sp?) This movie is pretty good. It has a lot to do with mourning a loved one who's no longer with them, but it isn't too long or gloomy. It has bright spots, that seem natural. The concept of "Family" "Love" "Need" and "Change" are all showed.

I'm going to go old school with this one but, "The Mark of Zorro", Starring Douglas Fairbanks, it is so well done. If you like when actors perform their own stunts, then you'll enjoy this, Fairbanks did : ). It is a silent movie, but it has a lot of movement from sequence to sequence.

If you haven't seen it, I highly suggest "Bunraku", Starring Josh Harnett. This movie's style mimicking the Japanese pop up book/ theatre aspects is NICE. Josh is a cowboy and he plays that role. The actions is really good. The facial expressions and the body language in the actor's performance, are more Japanese than American, but it blends the two styles so well. There's a cast of colorful characters, and several well known actors. So good.

Okay last one. If you just want to see mindless action, because the plot is either weak or not there, then go for "Ultraviolet", Starring Milla Jovovich. It takes place in the future, a dystopian future. There are viruses...er vampires...uh...Genectic...stuff. I like this movie for the visual effects, the fighting sequences, the style of the movie. WARNING, if you watch this movie and try to see logic in the plot points or information, you might become confused, and miss some nice action. Strictly a "popcorn muncher" movie

This year a lot of sequels/series which have their own fame and fans are coming: Jurassic World, Avengers, Mission Impossible, James Bond, The Hunger Games, Mad Max, Terminator, Star Wars, etc.
Actually no need for recommendation because they will be interesting and good for sure.

Things We Lost in The Fire is a good movie.

I've been on more of a comedy run lately. If you can see This Is Where I Leave You, it cracked me up. The patriarch of a Jewish family dies and his whacked out kids come home for the services. It's got quite a cast. too, and some of the humor is off the wall, which I love.

"Enemy"

It is a very interesting mystery thriller which leaves much of philosophical themes to be discussed afterwards. Jake Gyllenhaal acting is good as doppelganger here.

La La Land - I like this story: fresh, colorful and cheerful (on a beginning) plus music (including even my A-ha 'Take on me' from 80') but 14 Oscar nominations - wow, really a lot.

Swiss Army Man - Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe - very odd but really charming in a bizarre way.

Sort of Captain Fantastic (and yeh, DO see that!) meets Cast Away + well, I really can't say because that would spoil it.
Existential. Weird humor.

You know who you are

I liked more the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' than Vol.2 but in case of John Wick I liked both chapters.

I do not recommend Gus van Sant's 'Elephant.'

Spoilers ahead

When the two teenage shooters are young gay men and at least one of them is vividly portrayed as mentally ill - literally hearing voices - I call that f'ing irresponsible as hell. I wondered about van Sant in My Own Private Idaho. "Elephant" makes me stop wondering.

Blade Runner 2049 - nice visual effects (and music) but the future looks gloomy and it was a bit long

I looked at the list of the Golden Globe nominees and ... I haven't watched anything except for 'The Square" which I like.
A list of 'to watch' is expanding.

After 'The Shape of Water' I think that if Klaatu had taken Helen with him maybe it could have been Oscar too ;)
