I had the privilege to peruse UGossip (and I use that term sarcastically) and since there are new photos at CK of Keanu coming out of a restaurant (AGO) with a person of the male persuasion (they shook hands in the parking lot and Keanu left in his Porsche), flip (Ardith) was wondering if that was Keanu's boyfriend?

Ages ago, if, at the point when I had just become a fan, someone told me that he was gay, I wouldn't have minded one bit.

But now, after all the crap with lflipout, I would seriously mind a lot. Because it would mean that she was right. I DON'T WANT HER TO BE RIGHT.

...Because if she was right about that, who knows what else she's right about? And it would effectively mean that just about everything we know about Keanu could be a complete fabrication, and lflipout's idea of him - the selfish baby-killing drug addict - could be the correct one. That would suck.

truth be told, I don't care a bit what his sexual orientation might be.
I fell in love with the actor who could BE Neo, Constantine, Ludlow, Bob Arctor, Perry, Donnie, Alex... you know the list.
and reading almost all the articles and interviews published over the years, I fell in love with the survivor Keanu Reeves.
that's all that matters to me.  not where he chooses to put it. or why.  that's entirely his business, if anyone's.

what bothers me about lflip is, like you both said, the tenacity with which she's constructing her theories and speculations.  and that, because she KNOWS the accused won't punch back.  what she does could be qualified as slander.

was he a drug addict ? maybe.  did he ask Jennifer to get rid of the baby ?  again, maybe. anyone can fabricate rumors, as we've come to realize... 

Keanu probably has his own demons, and their number could be legion.  But he's probably being fighting with them all his life...  like most of us.  we won't know. can't know. not for sure.

so I'll just go on putting bits and pieces together and fabricating my own illusion.

Yes. She actually went to the extent of reading up biographies of David Geffen and associated people, and now she has all these lists of who Geffen knew whom Keanu or his friends also knew, and demanded to know how they could have all these friends / colleagues in common and still never have met.

She gave the example of how apparently Keanu's mother's colleague worked with Geffen once, and other similar connections. But who on earth actually meets their parent's colleague's friends, let alone has an affair with them? It's just really, really far-fetched.

(I mean, we know Isis, Isis knows Keanu, but does Keanu know us? No!

...Although 'Hey, Keanu's official stalker knows who I am! We've talked!' could sound impressive in certain circles.)

So far the only thing that hasn't been debunked is the time when lflipout wrote to some relatively well-known tabloid blogger - forgot who - to ask if Keanu was gay, and he replied saying something along the lines of 'yes, I know he is for a fact. I'm sorry". (as though lflipout would have been sorry.  )

But evidently lflipout doesn't place much value on that, because otherwise she would be carting that piece of 'evidence' around much more than she currently does.

As it is, she appears to put more faith in her own constructed tangled messes that almost rival those of Isis and her Con-A-Leads. That and Gus Van Sant's fictional book Pink, in which three characters were apparently based off Keanu - one straight, one gay, one asexual.

...Naturally lflipout narrows in on the gay one and declares it Van Sant baring his deepest-secret for the world to see through the inconspicuous veil of fiction.

(Hey, if fictional writing can become fact just like *that*, someone need rescue Keanu from the grasp of a certain Mr. Ludlow...  )

She usually goes "do you REALLY THINK that with all those people they know in common, they would have NEVER MET? Not even ONCE?" or something along those lines.

She also brings up how Keanu or anyone else attempting to get famous in Hollywood would have dropped anything for the opportunity to meet Geffen, because of his industry connections and all, and so if Keanu knew someone who knew him, she says that it's stupid to believe that he wouldn't have tried to make use of that contact.

Then she also mentions how Van Sant was auditioning actors for Interview with the Vampire, and said that Keanu would have definitely been interested and gone for the audition because it was a fairly big film and every young actor would have been clamouring for a part in it.

I pointed out that - even assuming that he actually wanted a part in the film - Keanu was probably away in Nepal filming Little Buddha during that time period. So she dropped the point, but I see it has resurfaced at Topix.
