![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Forum Posts: 424 Comments: 24 Reviews: 1 | Oh he knows we exist, he'd have to be a complete and total moron not to. I'm sure it's just that he doesn't look to see who exactly we are and what precisely we have to say, especially because it seems that we have an awful lot to say. Opinions are like @$$holes and the more @$$holes you know the more opinions you will encounter. I'm sure that a man who is extraordinary beautiful and charismatic, has world-wide popularity and still possesses the talent and intelligence that brought him this popularity, knows that he inspires a substantial following of impressionable and thoughtful human beings. Then you add the art of fiction into it which is designed to elicit emotional responses as well as stimulate conversation among people and consequently even create friendships. So naturally, fan clubs and forums will exist. There is no need to be scared. If someone is a serial killer/rapist/stalker - whatever, they are probably not blogging about it on the internet. If I were a famous person, I would be more afraid of having no smitten fans to write about me, create web sites about me or lunatics raving about how beautiful and talented I am and how much they love me . . . that is after all what brings in the paychecks, right?

I think he wants an audience. preferably an open-minded one. fans, not that much. unfortunately, they -the fans- come with the territory and, well, so it goes ;) :D and more unfortunately, he's had his share of stalkers/strange fans who took things too far. :(

And we really might scare him. The very idea of a Keanu "SWAT team" creeps out my entire family and all my classmates.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Forum Posts: 424 Comments: 24 Reviews: 1 | Okay maybe the swat team is a little creepy (and convival), but not the discussions or the adoration or even the ardent glorification or exaltation. I mean really, most people have or have had at least one person who adores them like this.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Forum Posts: 385 Comments: 33 Reviews: 2 | @Anakin: Uh... well, not really. I told one friend and another friend heard and was like, "WHAT?! Keanu SWAT team?!" and I was forced to explain, and you know... then someone wrote the url along with "KEANU SWAT TEAM" on the blackboard and that's when it happened.
Most of my friends thought it was pretty cool. And then some were like, "uh...."

It works well as a stand-alone movie. oh well. whatever happens, happens. ;)

*sulks* I think there will be a Constantine 2. I've heard more positives than negatives on it - quotes by the director,Keanu, etc. He said he enjoyed playing Constantine, and while it didn't do spectacularly in the U.S., it was a great world-wide success, so I see no reason why he wouldn't do it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | oh, he said he'd love playing Constantine again. But it's not up to him, not even up to Lauren Shuler Donner ( the main producer). Constantine is a Vertigo character and Vertigo belongs to Warner. And with the current situation being what it is, don't think the Warner studios will invest in a sequel to Constantine soon. It will have a limited audience in the US, what with the R rating and all.
... on the other hand, Warner goes and makes a live action movie based on the Jonah Hex comics. Which could be filed under 'wtf were they thinking'? - perhaps trying to capitalize on the current public attraction of Josh Brolin and Megan Fox? *shrugs* I gave up trying to understand movie studio executives' thinking. ;)

Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who produced the supernatural thriller Constantine, told SCI FI Wire that he is definitely interested in doing a sequel, but was not aware that star Keanu Reeves has said he wouldn't be a part of it. "I love that character," di Bonaventura said during an interview while promoting his latest film, Doom. "I'd love to do another. [I'd love to] call Warner Brothers and push on it." When told that Reeves told SCI FI Wire he probably wouldn't agree to a sequel, di Bonaventura looked over at his Doom co-producer, John Wells. "We hadn't heard that," di Bonaventura said. The movie, based on the DC Vertigo comic book Hellblazer, made $229 million domestically, and cost $100 million to make. At the time of the film's release, Reeves said that he thought the Constantine character was one of the most well-rounded parts he's ever played on film. But in a recent interview at the Toronto Film Festival, he said that he thought the producers were disappointed with the box-office performance of the movie. Di Bonaventura, however, insisted that although nothing is being currently planned, he and the other producers have not ruled out a sequel film. "We'd love to see a new Constantine," he said. "We had a good time making that movie. I'd love to do it again. It's just not in the works right now. ... He's such a great character I'd love to do it again." |
