I have that book sitting on my shelf from about 4 years ago when it was first rumored he was interested in it. It was also around that time that I realized I could never hope to keep up with his reading list... :) So it keeps sitting there. | ||

While some of the things described there are still relevant today and some of the theories have been proved.... others are way outdated. So I really don't see how it could be translated onto film today, without going the Bourne Identity way which means basically rewriting everything. Later later edit: | ||

I'm one of those people who can see slightly ahead w/tech, media, culture and politics. Long ago, said "your online persona, is going to matter a great deal in society in general" and it has infected nearly every aspect of life with social media. Cloud Atlas. I love that book, it is one of my top 10 novels. Before the movie said "the author is either pure genius, insane or both" he packs quite a punch with the style, prose and spanning over 400 years of human history in such a way he almost seems like an oracle. Cloud Atlas has a high re-readability too. As for KR's taste being dark. That's fantastic. My own tastes are rather dark too. From books, movies to TV. Fantasy, sci-fi you name it the darker the better for me. Will check out the rest of the reading list. | ||
