posted for no particular reason; but this article goes to show that in fact it's quite a small world 'out there'. and that it seems to be both about what you know and who you know ;)

Hollywood royalty is set to grace the red carpet at this year's Beijing International Film Festival as its second edition attempts to secure the event as the premier one of its kind in China.

Both Oscar-winning director James Cameron and actor Keanu Reeves have signed on to appear in Beijing for the festival, which will run at various venues across the Chinese capital from April 23-28.

It is a smart and timely piece of promotion for both men, with Cameron's 3D version of Titanic currently screening around China and Reeves putting the finishing touches on his debut effort as a director, the actioner Man of Tai Chi, which has been partly shot in Beijing.

but not sure I like seeing K's name next to Cameron's, not in this context. Cameron is an old sly marketing fox, with an eye for great cinematography and little else. K seems to have a genuine passion for storytelling, something that, imo, Cameron is missing completely.

Now that you mention it, it does seem that Cameron puts much more passion and dedication into his documentaries than into his films. So they do have something in common, after all :)

The Dandy Warhols rocker Courtney Taylor-taylor had an unlikely adviser to help him with his graphic novel One Model Nation - actor Keanu Reeves.

The musician was pleasantly surprised to discover Reeves was a big fan of the band and he reached out to The Matrix star a decade ago when he first started jotting his ideas down in the form of a screenplay.

He tells Nme, "I first started writing it in paragraphs of plot synopsis in a series of emails to Keanu Reeves. He's a fan of the band, and I know that he's into some cool and artsy music things, and I knew that this would be something he'd really dig. He was into it, but it ended up being that I didn't need him to put me in touch with people."

Taylor-Taylor's animated side project, about a fictional German rock band, didn't end up as a film - but going through the process with Reeves enabled the singer to fully develop the storyline for his comic book.

He says, "What it did do was it helped me sort out what the story was and what I needed to get off my chest. A lot of it is a metaphor for the career of The Dandy Warhols."

... so a decade ago Reeves WAS using email, even if he didn't own a computer. ;)
