I was having fun with the idea of sorta-Luddite Keanu NOT taking a selfie, because taking a selfie seems enormously non-Keanu-like to me.

And while I didn't hear him say "yes! I'm gonna be Dr Strange! Excellent!" I also don't see him saying "no, I am absolutely not going to do this"
Ah, the joys of journalistic accuracy! "we don't have a story! let's turn it into a mythology!"

looks like many people didn't 'get' its humor, its quirky-ness, Conor's own particular awesomeness... didn't fit their preconceived ideas about how that world or that movie shoud behave and sound like

Hardball was definitely a shock to the system for me at first because Conor was so totally unlike all my previous ideas of Keanu. Once I set those aside and looked again, I realized what a great job he did in the role. Even when he was Johnny-Mnemonic over the top, like the scene right before he took the kids to the baseball game, there was a reason for it that made sense within the parameters of the character. There was genius in the difference between his fake-charm with the teacher vs. the real charm that just sort of poured out of him unaware in the "I'm interested!" scene. And the list goes on.

Also, lucky elevator girl. Sigh.

I like the other photos more, though. They clearly show he had some ideas of his own on how the thing should have been choreographed/directed/filmed ;)

Yeah, with a guy like that there's only one kind of relationship to have. I've never been able to do it, but after seeing Conor in that scene I certainly get the appeal.

Alien Jesus: "I just watched on DVD the first Matrix again after quite some time... Honestly that scene where Reeves is all hooked up to hoses in that egg pod covered in goo, I still marvel at the fact that no one else on Earth at that or any other time could play that scene with such finely tuned bewilderment. The boy has a unique talent, that for me is always pretty damn winning."
