 Forum Posts: 474 Comments: 6 Reviews: 0 | I'm not really of a fan of the poem, but, about the parodying sorrow deal, I've cracked some pretty messed up jokes at the expense of my own (or someone else's) pain. Sometimes, things go bad in such a ridiculous way, all you can do is laugh at it.
It's not so much about disrespect, or about being provocative. If nothing else, dark humor can be very exorcising. | ||

Yeah, ok I'm being mean: I don't need alcohol to understand this "master-piece" (oups, being mean again). I took some time to think about this book project and read all the posts here and there. But I don't understand why a publisher put money on such a project. So many talented unknown people write good stuff and are not published. It seems unfair! Nobody would be interested in this poem if it was not keanu's. And you wouldn't be trying to find a meaning to it. He just plays on words like anybody here could do it. Was it worth publishing? My answer is no. I've been a huge fan for a long time but sometimes I just don't get it! | ||

I also practice self-mockery. And I also know that my own personal dramas might seem awfully final to me, but in the world picture... they're hardly a tiny spot. I found meaning in this little poem. You didn't. it's ok. unfair? to quote a rather poor TV series, from more than a decade ago "when life starts being fair, I'll let you know". | ||

True, but I guess that's part of the point; the value lies in who the author is, not the poem itself. It's like with autographs - anyone can easily squiggle their name, but it'll only have value if the person is famous. | ||
