I think the Keanu content in this article may qualify it for the archive, or what?

He doesn’t have anger about the way he is viewed, but there is sadness and I’ve found that an interesting thing to work with.” ... the mirror image of Neo, upside down. sort of ... or rather, the reversed tarot card of Neo... This article made me want to see the movie even more. And also made me even more aware of what a huge bet this project is... The actor also said he’s been a student of the filmmaking approach on the set, with the “very immersive, very of-the-moment” approach to 3-D and digital filmmaking. He chuckled and added: “We’re trying to make a movie with a lot of depth and in more ways than one.”

On the subject of 3D, I've yet to see a 3D movie. I wonder if the effect the 3D has on the brain would make it harder for me to focus on the story. I guess I'll find out with 47 Ronin. Those of you who have seen 3D movies and who wear glasses, what's it like to wear the 3D specs *and* your own glasses?

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | I tweeted that question twice ; none of the journalists picked it up :(
well, I watched Avatar with both 3D specs and my own glasses (nearsighted). gave me a terrible headache ( part of it due to the bad scriptwriting, but hey ;)) and couldn't really 'buy' the illusion; at times Worthington seemed to float out of the screen, and most contours of images were blurry. But then I was told this was because of the cheap 3D glasses. I watched a 3D TV transmission ( some Roland Garros tennis match) with 'active' 3D glasses. no headache, but the blurriness was still there... willing to give it another try, though. maybe my eyes and brain just have to get used to the new technology...

Forum Posts: 70 Comments: 1 Reviews: 1 | In response to your question Ink, I have worn glasses all my life and in fact I am up to tri-focals. I can read the writing on tiny coins, but I can't see 3 feet in front of my face. Go figure.
I was very reluctant to see a 3D feature because as you described it can be irritating to wear glasses over glasses. That plus I am old enough to remember the first attempt at 3D (red-green spectrum) which was a disaster. So the first feature I watched in 3D was Coraline. The second was How to train your dragon and the 3rd was Alice in Wonderland. What I will say about 3D is listen closely to what the director is saying or doing. Many films are now being "converted" to 3D to take advantage of the new technology and quite frankly aren't worth it. If the entire project from the get go is designed for 3D, everything is taken into account. Therefore the performance, set etc really is better. Alice was like that - Tim Burton described his decision and style many times in interviews. I just simply felt that it really added to the movie eg. in the White Queen's castle you really felt the "size" much more that in traditional filming. So am looking forward to 47 Ronin the more I hear about it. For many reasons of course but it sounds like they are being careful and selective. I have chosen 47 Ronin as end of the world film (ya know end of the world Dec 12 2012) - and what a nice choice that will be.

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | ... the world better not end until I get to watch 47 Ronin , 3D glasses be damned ! And that usually means a 3 weeks delay until the movies reach my little home town. so the end of the world will just have to wait a bit.

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | I refuse to have the world end until we've also seen Man Of Tai Chi and -- as much as I predict that I'll hate it -- Generation Um... Oh, and yes: Side by Side too.
Have I forgot anything else that the end of the world must wait for?

Forum Posts: 2836 Comments: 74 Reviews: 11 | thanks for finding and posting this LA times article! That picture slays me every time and here it popped up when I did not expect it! Ambushed...by those eyes that hair and those freckles. 3D makes a movie so much more of an EVENT. If, you can tolerate it and don't have a problem with the glasses. I saw the U2 movie in 3D and it was amazing. Also Beowolf was damn cool. I am on board for 3D!

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | Uh, this is of course unforgivable, but I totally forgot to say that the end of the world will have to wait until after CONSTANTINE II!!
Sometimes I worry about myself. On another note, here are some more 47 Ronin actors, snipped from the Hiroyuki Sanada Corner: - Masayuki Deai - Jurosaemon Isogai [one of the 47 Ronin] (confirmed)

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | In an interview with Rick "The Zombie" Genest in the Montreal Gazette his scene in 47 Ronin is described thus:
In Budapest, he shot the upcoming film 47 Ronin, had a fight scene with Keanu Reeves and uttered the following line: “Oy, what’s your business here?” http://www.montrealgazette.com/entertainment/Zombie+love/4838830/story.html

Forum Posts: 2836 Comments: 74 Reviews: 11 | Now we have a general idea about how his hair will look but is he going to wear those japanese wooden sandals? With the socks? inquiring minds ( uh, me) want to know. Some things are better for me to prepare for BEFORE I get to the theater and have inappropriate outbursts...

Forum Posts: 1364 Comments: 153 Reviews: 0 | I dunno, wasn't it just women who wore those horrible wooden sandals? I can't imagine that men would voluntarily wear something so uncomfortable.
Still, I'd totally want to watch Keanu wear them. *And* the white socks! Actual laughter would be produced, I can assure you.

Forum Posts: 4842 Comments: 381 Reviews: 13 | going by a five-minutes google search, the traditional footwear would be this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z%C5%8Dri or this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geta_%28footwear%29 the ronins in Samourai Champloo wore both types, each matching their personality ( Jin -zori , Mugen -geta) but going by the on the set photos from the 47 Ronin blog, I'd say they'll go a bit Western on that and have the ronins wear some sort of boots.
