I know froggie from CK wanted to go to this, but seeing as I'm not registered at CK yet, I can't tell her!  Here is the link. It ends in 21 hours. Just thought I'd throw that out there!  edit: Oh snap! I just looked and it's for *2* tickets to the Matrix!!! If anyone wins these and needs another person to go with, I'll more than pay my fair share for what you paid-within reason of course!!  (I live in San Diego, so it's only about a 2 hour drive to L.A.) Does it sound like I'm begging?? LOL  edit x2: well boo! The bid is up to $153.00 now, as opposed to the first bid of $10.99. And mercy posted at the IMDB board an article about how it seems AFI sold tickets to it's members first and was basically sold out before tickets went on sale. editx3: Well, the first ebay one ended at $232.00. And then if you have Paypal and want to use the Buy It Now feature you can buy AFI Matrix tickets for $250.00 on another eBay auction. These tickets sold for $25.00 a piece!! Grumble, grumble.... And now a few others have sprung up. How nice that people bought tickets, just so they could turn around and make a profit! I know, I know, it's the capitalist way, but it's just frustrating!! | ||

Funnily enough, I'm reading the graphic novel Watchmen (I was curious since there's such big hype around the movie and it was on Times 100 best books) and in there it talks about how horrible humanity is and the end of the world coming etc. etc. etc... (I'm three quarters done, so I don't know how it ends yet?) That movie comes out in 2009 I believe. I'm spotting a trend. EDIT: Only a couple more hours until The Matrix introduced by Keanu starts. Grumble, grumble. And I finished Watchmen. In one of the panels (towards the end) it says The Day The Earth Stood Still (I guess it was playing at a movie theatre). *Very* coincidental.  Now, the trailer for Watchmen makes more sense though. (after having read the graphic novel) | ||
