I'm not accustomed to social media but I think the only person you need to answer to is your conscience (and your loved ones). You needn't actually STATE anything as long as you know you are doing the right thing. Huh. Well, you may not be missing out on too much character-wise, then. His loss. I do understand the temptations, and I also understand getting tongue-tied. I once looked into the eyes of a man so beautiful that I lost my powers of speech and just stared at him like an idiot. So I get it, believe me. You didn't do anything wrong, even if there was a silly look on your face. Maybe that tells you that something to think about in the meantime is getting more confident in who you are. Focus on what's best for you - challenges, talents, passions - and the awkwardness will eventually go away, or at least dissipate enough that it won't be a hindrance and you'll find yourself attracting like-minded people who appreciate your Matrix geekitude. Like us, for example. | ||

Remember, Spirit, practice S L O W L Y to begin - if you can't play it slowly, you can't play it fast. Work tempos up by small degrees until you are at tempo. You will be AWESOME!!! | ||

Sight reading is one of the requirements for the auditions, and will undoubtedly be the hardest part, as the are only so many ways you can prepare for it. (playing like every thing being one). | ||

You won't know the piece they'll give you in the audition, but sightreading whatever else you can will definitely make you better and give you a possible edge over the other auditioners. Her advice works, trust me. :) | ||
