I just saw "Only God Forgives" and - did not like it. So there it is. But hey, it's Keanu, so who knows? The "I don't get it" part can be the growing edge. It took me a bunch of viewings to love "Generation Um..." And how dull would it be if we all liked the same things? | ||

The way it spoke through visuals, not dialogue... Liked the aesthetics, not the violence. But it's all about personal preferences and likes and dislikes and.

ARPEGGIOS!!!" which don't even require technical skill anymore like they did when I was a "younger" keyboardist, now it's just an algorhythm. Extremely violent, characters not sympathetic, it feels confused and confusing to me and not interesting enough to work at trying to understand. With Generation Um..., I wanted to understand it better - the characters are interesting and sympathetic, though not in a usual way.
I watched the interview with Nicolas Winding Refn and was simply baffled. Yes, I certainly understand for a film actor how working chronologically and without rehearsal is theater-like and interesting, but as a viewer? Not so sure. The Countess Bathory angle of the story could be intriguing if handled thoughtfully. It is a horrifying and dramatic story. If handled badly, it could be medieval Hostel. I would opt out. There was a time when Keanu made what seemed to me like odd choices and it sort of bothered me. I'm pretty well over that. My reaction to stuff I don't get is more likely "Huh, what's he going to do with that." That means that, as an audience member, I've grown, and I really like that. | ||

A very smart and passionate guy. The film is entitled "The Neon Demon". I play a very threatening motel manager, with Elle Fanning And who else? What can we expect from the film?
