HK is a long way to go for me to see this film, although I reeaally can't wait (although my cousin's son and daughter-in-law live there, so I guess I would have a place to stay). Perhaps I should emigrate to Asia since Keanu seems to be spending a lot of time there.

Ani, ;)

Good heavens, let's hope so!

Can I just beg my parents to let me swim to Hong Kong? :c What sucks about Kay being in Asia and everything is the fact that he's SO CLOSE to where I am, for once, and I can't see him because he decides to stay in the countries I'm not in. D:

Anyway, in more plusgood news, Kay seems to be doing these film talk-things a lot. Side-effect of making a documentary dedicated to a film aspect, maybe? Or because he's directing something brilliant, too?

I wish you were my English professor.

And, hey, Sandra Bullock said Keanu smells good! Maybe it was the shoes!

Initially there is a mild worry the film might be as much about Keanu as it is the interviewees, opening as it does with a montage of shots of Keanu – sporting a beard of different lengths – talking to the great and good of the film industry. But once you get past the fact that it is Keanu doing the interviewing the film settles down to tell its fascinating story.
[...]

It is a fascinating story – especially for those in the business – though to a degree there is an awful lot of history, information and opinion to pack into a modest running time. But in the end, Side By Side makes for compulsive viewing…and you learn to love Keanu’s laidback interviewing technique which helps pull aside the technical terms and focus on the beauty of the final image.

no, really?

Chiara - thanks for the link.

bah, English journalists ;)

and why do I get the feeling that the bits about Man of Tai Chi and 47 Ronin are 'borrowed' from other interviews?

Well, it could have been worse. They didn't use "bodacious" anywhere.

But obviously they don't see the irony of describing him as "thoughtful and introspective" and "wooden" in the same article.

Chiara, I can't find any mention of this on the site. Do you have a more specific link to it?

I know that Tribeca Films has the rights to SbS, but so far it doesn't seem as if they've announced the actual lineup for the Festival. (If it does premiere there and Keanu attends, I am seriously going to go hunting for a cheap flight to NYC!) Or am I just not seeing it?

Can someone please surf the Tribeca Film Festival site and see if you can find out WHEN and WHERE SbS is screening?

I can't find it, no matter where I look. And their site is so video heavy that it keeps bogging down on me. (Yes, I need to upgrade my router.)

Thank you!!
